Incredible Stained Glass Scarf


Quick to knit scarf shows off pretty variegated ribbon yarn in a stained glass effect by using an easy drop-stitch pattern.


Incredible Scarf

Supplies:

  Ø  1 50g Skein Lion Brand Yarn Incredible (100% Nylon)
  Ø  Size US 13 needles (either straight or circular)
  Ø  Tapestry needle.

Gauge: 4 st x 5 rows per inch in garter stitch

Finished size laid flat:  3 ½” x 48”

Stitch pattern:
Row 1: *Insert right needle into stich as if to knit with tip sticking out about 1 ½”, wrap the yarn around the right needle tip 3 times and knit the stitch* (Repeat between *   *)
Row 2: *Knit the stitch and drop the wrapped loops from the needle.* Note: take care to knit only the stitch, not the wraps. (Repeat between *   *)
Rows 3 & 4: Knit.

Scarf:

CO 15 stitches using the long tail cast on method. Knit 3 rows.
Begin stitch pattern and work it until scarf is desired length, approximately 18 - 22 repeats.
Knit 1 more row.
Bind off. Sew in ends with tapestry needle.

Gently stretch and pull the rows horizontally from side to side, then vertically from the ends to redistribute the yarn and even it out.

CO = Cast On
