It's Not Too Late to Start Knitting Holiday Gifts!


Whip up this pretty cowl in no time at all!  Enjoy my new free pattern.

Lacy Sampler Infinity Cowl 


Using bulky yarn and big needles, this Infinity Cowl may be easily completed in 1 or 2 evenings. This is also a good project for practicing knitting in-the-round, yarn-overs, ribbing and knit-2-together techniques. The cowl may be worn long or doubled up closer to the neck.

Finished size: 44” circumference x 8” tall
Gauge: 11 sts & 16 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch

Supplies needed: 

Yarn:  Caviar by Reynolds 2 skeins
Bulky / 12 ply
72% Acrylic, 26% Wool, 2% Polyester
75 yards / 50 grams each skeiin
(Or approximately 150 yards of comparable bulky yarn)

Size US 15 circular needles (24”)

Tapestry Needle

Pattern stitch:
A – Insert Right needle purl-wise. Wrap yarn around needle tip twice and purl.
B – Purl being careful to drop the wrapped loops between the actual stitches.

Directions:


CO 100 sts.
Rows 1 – 4: *K1P1* to end (1 x 1 ribbing)
Rows 5 – 6: Knit (Stockinette)
Rows 7: Purl
Row 8: Pattern Stitch A across all stitches.
Row 9: Pattern Stitch B across all stitches
Row 10: Purl
Rows 11 – 14: Knit (Stockinette)
Row 15: Purl
Row 16: *P2Tog YO*
Rows 17 - 18:  Purl
Rows 19 – 22 Knit
Rows 23 – 26: Repeat Rows 7 – 10
Rows 27 – 28: Repeat Rows 5 – 6
Rows 29 – 32: Repeat Rows 1 – 4
BO loosely.
Weave in ends with tapestry needle.

CO = cast on                                         K = Knit                                   
            P = Purl                                                 st /sts = stitch / stitches                      
                P2Tog = purl 2 stitches together         YO = yarn over        BO = bind off
