Retreat!

Ahhh...  beautiful Lake Tahoe...  What a perfect setting for 60 women to share their love of knitting while relaxing amongst the camaraderie of like-minded sisters! It was a luxury to leave the responsibilities and obligations of everyday life to focus on luscious fibers, exquisite designs and experience the soothing rhythm of clicking knitting needles.  The chill in the air gave us the opportunity to wear our lovingly created hats, scarves, wraps and sweaters, a treat that our beautiful California weather seldom allows us.

I treasure those four days of fun, freedom and bonding.  Learning new techniques and skills taught by sister guild members shows the talent and expertise that exists in our group.  I appreciated the opportunity to knit a square to contribute to the Land's End Share the Warmth project.  The games and raffles were fun and entertaining.  I was inspired by all of the entries in the neckwear contest, and I was honored to be awarded 2nd place for my "Emerald Bay Crest of the Wave" scarf.

Thank you to the Camellia City Stockinettes Retreat Committee for your hard work and attention to detail which resulted in a fantastic event.  I look forward to next year!

  1. The retreat and your good company are irrevocably intertwined for me! It was a lot of fun and I'm so glad we get to go up there for such an industrious and relaxing outing... who knew the two could go together so well?
